Monique then moved to Florida to attend cosmetology school, quickly becoming a Hair Color Specialist as well. Studying Advanced Hair Cutting techniques at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in South Beach, Monique was able to hone her cutting skills. With her thriving session artistry career taking off, Monique went to Los Angeles to study makeup for film and television specifically. Under the tutelage of a Celebrity Makeup Artist, she was able to fine tune her skills to cover most mediums needed in today's beauty industry.Known as Tampa Bay's Premier Makeup and Hair Artist, Monique has had the privilege to work with many national and international photographers, celebrities, notable public figures, designers, models, musicians, actresses and athletes. Managed day to day business operations, including marketing the new start up business to both other businesses and individuals. Expanded staffing and developed employees in areas of self marketing and in salon education. Created the Black Pearl brand and managed the on scene presence within the local and regional fashion community.

Responsible for the day to day management and operations of a 24 person salon, including goal setting, sales tracking and business development. Profitable salon, which grossed approximately 800k per fiscal year.

Began as a Licensed Insurance Sales Counselor, quoting insurance rates to 50 states. Became Progressive's first Million Dollar Direct Sales Agent in 1997. Promoted to Business Development Manager and relocated to Colorado Springs, CO to manage a direct sales team of 25 employees. Promoted to Territory Sales Manager and relocated to corporate headquarters in Cleveland, OH to work with Special Lines Marketing and handle Progressive's on site presence at all Progressive motorcycle events. Transferred back to Riverview, FL to manage in the Policy Services Division, managing up to 100 call center employees, three floor level team lead/supervisors and two administrative assistants.
