Operations Manager responsible for a specialist Automotive Funding Operation. Capital Bank had established a specialist funding operation to support the finance requirements of Vauxhall Master Hire. This placed Capital in direct competition with the in-house funder, General Motors Acceptance Corporation. Approached by Capital to take over the operation after internal audit had identified major concerns regarding operational performance and service levels.- Coached and developed inexperienced management/supervisory team to turn around the operation. Staff numbers increased from 4 to 12- Developed and implemented new or revised processes across the whole account. Introduced restructured organisation, documented procedures, quality controls and KPI monitoring which were central to increased service levels enjoyed by Vauxhall- Increased funding advances by 57% over two year period- Delivered significant quantifiable service level improvements on the account. Reversed a negative perception of Capital service levels, on leaving Capital viewed as the premium finance provider for the Vauxhall Master Hire operation- Service level improvements resulted in extension of Vauxhall contract from 6 months to a minimum of 2 years, competitor GMAC was set to be relegated to minor funder position- Developed multiple software solutions to previous manual processes, efficiency and accuracy levels quantifiably improved.

This was branded as Vauxhall Master Hire (now Vauxhall Leasing) and was established in 1989. - Responsible for the establishment, development and management of all internal new business activities- Developed an administrative and management team from 3 to 34- Responsible for devising and implementing all new business operational procedures, ensured maximum operational performance on multiple Vauxhall new business programmes within a high volume, highly pressurised environment- Implemented significant IS and IT solutions for the 450 Vauxhall dealers subscribing to the Master Hire programme, implemented a PC quoting programme within dealerships and a enhanced direct quoting system within Leamington incoming call centre operation- Appointed to role of business ‘super-user’ for £2.5 million mainframe replacement system- Contributed to the companies rapid growth and inclusion within the top ten UK leasing and fleet management companies - fleet size growth from zero to 26 thousand within 5 years- Contribution to organisation documented by Directors on leaving position, letters of commendation received noting commitment and achievement- Also project managed an investigation into the feasibility of establishing an analogous Master Hire operation for General Motors- Holland.
