About Molly Graham

Hi! I'm Molly. For better or worse, I am probably best known for coining the term “Give Away Your Legos” to talk about what it’s like to work inside rapidly scaling companies. For the past 10 years, I have been the COO/head of operations for multiple organizations including the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), a philanthropy founded by Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan; Quip, a start-up founded by Bret Taylor that sold to Salesforce for $750m; and Lambda School. I have also served as a board member, advisor, or interim exec at a wide variety of startups in fintech, climate, education, healthcare, and Web3.Before that, I spent five years at Facebook in multiple different roles doing things like developing Facebook's long-term mobile strategy and building a lot of its early People philosophy and systems (and a hot second at Google, where I started my career in tech). These days I’m focused on joy and that means I spend most of my time building communities. Most publicly, we are building The Glue Club (http://glueclub.com), a community focused on developing and supporting the strongest operators in the world. I love investing my time, mentorship, and support in the Glue People – the people who hold up the walls and the ceiling in whatever company they’re in, and who make sure that the right thing happens whether it’s in their job description or not. As you can see, I've spent a lot of time inside startups and scaling companies, and lots of time coaching, mentoring, and advising folks building companies, and there is nothing I love more than talking about what it takes to build and scale a company well, what it takes to be a good manager and leader, and how to navigate the world of tech startups as you think about your career.I've made every mistake in the book and quite a few that aren't in the book. I write about all those learnings on Substack: https://mollyg.substack.com/.

Listed skills include Facebook, Leadership, Blogging, Start Ups, and 23 others.

- I helped define and build Facebook's external "hacker" brand. I also helped rewrite the company values in 2009.
