 Oversaw and provided leadership to Adeso’s programs in Somalia. Programs ranged from food security, humanitarian, social protection/resilience, education- including mobile, non-formal education, youth employment, livelihoods and value chains.  Directed all aspect of Adeso’s program management and design from technical oversight to personnel and financial management. Over $30 million portfolio.  Maintaining high visibility vis-à-vis clients, donor (USAID, EU, private donors), working closely with governments and stakeholders to ensure Adeso’s program visibility and participation and contribution in strategic discussions in the region. Developed relations with new donors, developed programs and successful in receiving new funding, at least, 3 new donors since 2015. Participated in the design and implementing the first Social Safety Net program in Somalia- 3 years, EU funded Excellent understanding of the Horn of Africa context, both operational environment as well as donor relation. Strong advocacy and coordination abilities, was an active member of a number of coordination forums and in a couple boards as board of directors and advisory such as the global CaLP and SHF advisory board.  Led Adeso’s portfolio development. Led resource mobilization and fundraising for the 2017 drought response in Somalia and secured over 15m USD in new funding from various donors including USAID. Involved in securing 11 million Euros, Social Protection Project. Diversified programs; provided leadership to a number of flagship programs in pastoral production, Social and human development programs, natural resources management and conflict resolutions, resilience, safety nets and youth programs and emergency response funded by USAID, EU, DFID and private donors.
