I commenced my career in the leisure tourism sector in 1995 as Co-owner and Operations Director of Legend Tours. Legend Tours was one of the first emerging Tourism business`s in the new democratic South Africa, and a pioneer in cultural tourism. In 2005, I launched ILIOS Travel and have grown this business into the most successful and only independent, black-owned tour operator, operating throughout South Africa, boasting offices in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Plettenberg Bay, Durban, Johannesburg, Hazyview and Hoedspruit. The ILIOS Travel business and brand has become a formidable player in the leisure tourism sector which has also achieved a level 1 BBEE accreditation. Having grown from a single Operation in Cape Town with an annual turnover of less than ten million rand to in excess of two hundred million rand per annum pre Covid. An initial product portfolio of transfers and day tours only to a range of Nationally Guided Escorted Programmes that spreads South Africa.
