Dr. Mohamed is working as an associate professor at Desert Research Center, Egypt. Now, he is a Fulbright visiting scholar at the environmental engineering department, Arizona State University (April 2022 – Jan. 2023). He received his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Science, Azhar University, Egypt in 2014 and accomplished an award funded by STDF to join the researchers at the chemical engineering department, University of Waterloo, Canada for 4 months, 2015. He published more than 50 papers in high-ranked journals in the fields of desalination, water treatment, and nanocomposite membranes. Dr. Mohamed has conducted scientific research covering over 15 technologies mostly in nanocomposite materials, water desalination, and wastewater treatment. He has led five national and international projects in collaboration with Arizona State University, Rice University, Strathclyde University, Tianjin University, and Canterbury Christ Church University. His research has been supported by various national and international organizations including Fulbright, STDF, USAID, British Council, and Chinese-Egyptian Research Fund. He is a member of the European Desalination Society, the National Committee of advanced nanomaterials, and the Egyptian water desalination alliance. He is also a Lead guest editor in Membrane journal, a reviewer to ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Chemical Engineering Research and Design, Nanotechnology for Environmental Engineering, Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Desalination, and Water Treatment, and Journal of Hazardous Materials.
