 Project Description:Huge Mega project In Fayoum Governate contains 18 FIDIC( red book & yellow bookcontracts) for Phase One WHICH ALREADY ONGOING PROJECTS Now. o The Project contains sewage networks, Pumping stations & waste water treatment plantsfunded from European Bank for Reconstruction and development. o The Project will be implemented in two phases. Phase I (committed funding) of the Project willcover: (i) construction of 4 new WWTP; (ii) expansion of 7, rehabilitation of 10 anddecommissioning of 6 of the existing WWTPs; (iii) expansion of existing gravity sewers ofapproximately 2,334 km; (iv) construction of round 256 km new pressurized rising mains and100 new sewage pumping stations. o Phase II (uncommitted funding) of the Project will cover 41 unserved villages with a totalpopulation of around 240,000 inhabitants. More specifically, it will target (i) the expansion ofthose WWTPs in Fayoum governorate which are financed and currently under constructionby the NOPWASD and are expected to be completed in 2021; (ii) the construction of another4 WWTPs; (iii) expansion of existing gravity sewers of approximately 755 km; (iv)construction of round 88 km new pressurized rising mains and 200 new sewage pumpingstations, as well as (v) procurement of 200 evacuation trucks to cover the most remoteunserved villages in the Fayoum governorate which have a lower pollution impact on theLake Qarun and the environment surrounding the region. Phase II will only be committed in2022 subject to a satisfactory progress in construction works under Phase I and in theconstruction works of NOPWASD projects
