I used to hate the water industry.To me, it was all about bad smells.Sewage plants.Dirty work.I wanted nothing to do with it.But my lovely father had other plans.He forced me to study engineering so I could join our family business, IWTE.In my second year at university, I had enough.I was ready to quit, didn’t even go to the exams.I planned to switch to media studies.Media seemed powerful.I saw how one of my family members flipped their opinion on a politician in three days.From hate to love.I thought, "If I want to change Egypt and impact millions, media is the way."But then my father sat me down.He said something that made me think:"Water can have an even bigger impact than media."I did my research.2 billion people don’t have access to clean water.3.6 billion lack wastewater services.I realized—through water, I could help billions.That’s when my hate turned into love.Now, IWTE is growing.We transformed from a small family business into a shareholding company.We opened a new branch in Saudi Arabia in 2024,Attracted top talent,And we have immense potential.In less than two years, I met more than 900 water experts in 96 cities and 15 countries.I was looking to research water challenges and solutions.So, I founded Meyahh.A digital scale-up Start-up for the Arab and African markets.It’s going to transform the water industry.Meyahh will attract more investors into the water.Help small local contractors become more profitable.And support water component manufacturers to grow across the Middle East & Africa.The impact I dreamed of?It’s happening now—through water.
