As a member of the Satellite terminal group, our team was responsible for developing the software for the terminal. This is an embedded software that ran on a board with embedded controller (the 8051 micro). I was responsible for developing the CORE software. The functionality of this part was to bring up the terminal to the "real world". The software started up the micro-controller, did all necessary initialization, tested all hardware components including the on-board memory, and provided drivers for the SMC communications ports on the board. The CORE software also provided a user interface to the external world to download software, perform sanity checks, CRC load checks, and software application download.I have been involved with all parts of the software design process, from requirement analysis, prototyping, design, implementation, testing and releasing.

I was a member of the team responsible for developing the "wireless ATM" terminal project. I was involved in developing the device driver layer as well as the "real-time API" layer called CRE. The layer offered a development interface for the application layer using the VxWorks real-time operating system.

I started my industrial career wih Bell-Northern Research (NORTEL) as a software designer. I was a member of the Cellular Radio Terminal AMPS/TDMA group. I started my early work with NORTEL as a software support engineer. My main task was to track and fix software bugs produced through lab experiments or referred to by the company clients. I was awarded the PEER award while working on a critical problem at the "Brazil Telecom", one of the company clients.I was later assigned to the 2G terminal project. This project was a next generation for Cillular Radio Terminal. I was responsible for developing a full synthesizer driver for the three-stage on-board synthesizer. I was responsible for the full development cycle from requirement analysis to final testing and final releasing.
