The Syria Justice and Accountability Centre (SJAC) is a multilaterally funded, Syrian-led non-profit that envisions a Syria defined by justice, respect for human rights, and rule of law. With the goal of promoting transitional justice and accountability processes in Syria, SJAC works to comprehensively document violations of international human rights, humanitarian, and criminal law in the Syrian conflict. SJAC is a 501 C 3 non-for profit, registered in Washington, DC.● Provides leadership, vision and strategic guidance for SJAC● Acts as a liaison to local, regional, and international organizations active in the human rights and transitional justices sectors● Conducts policy analysis and monitoring of human rights violations in Syria● Supports high level media events reaching a wide audience to promote awareness of transitional justice mechanisms for Syria● Acts as a liaison to UN, international and regional organizations, and to all governments that support a transition in Syria● Prepares fundraising mechanism to ensure sustainability to the organization● Supervises team of 34 members, and direct the relation with group of partner organizations● Represents the organization in conferences and public events

● Follows conflict updates with Syrian activists inside and outside the country on a daily basis to get as accurate as possible information from the ground. ● One of the main media analysts on the Syrian conflict and the regional developments in Syria and the region. Topics related to human rights violations; UN involvement; US, EU, and Russia’s positions toward the Syrian crisis.● Provide policy recommendations to variety of governments regarding empowering civil society in Syria, human rights situation and transitional planning. ● Maintains a strong presence on social media with strong crowdsourcing for information and details from the ground.● Prepares summary reports on a regular basis to explain the most recent developments in Syria to distribute to the media.

● Editor and website manager for the International Journalists’ Network (IJNet), the premier global website for journalists and media managers to learn about training and networking opportunities.● Training advisor for the International Center for Journalists specializing in online media training course to promote quality journalism.● Prepared weekly evaluations for the online courses’ participants, and ranked the participants to determine the most successful journalists/students.● Responsible for closely monitoring MENA media platforms and generating ideas about quality journalism training to be applied in the MENA region.

● Researched human rights violations in Syria; including political prisoners in Syria, torture in custody, crackdown on Kudrish activists, and trials by Supreme State Security Court for Islamist prisoners. ● Tracked the status of Iraqi refugees in Syria and Lebanon and worked closely with UNHCR on this issue.● Follow situation in both countries closely to suggest area of focus and report topic for HRW● Conduct interviews with victims and provide first-layer analysis of data. ● Closely monitored MENA media outlets, prepare internal monthly summery report. ● Managed and maintained close relationship with media organizations.
