OMEN-Palestine is a national network to connect Palestinian physicians at all stages of their careers so that together we can advocate for excellence in research and medical education. Our mission is to advance health equity in Palestine through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates research, public health, education, and data-driven policies. OMEN-Palestine has grown to become affiliated with Osmosis from Elsevier.A few highlights from this role have included:● Established and directed the first Osmosis chapter in Palestine, creating a significant network for medical professionals focused on research and education.● Recruited and trained a management team of 15, grew membership to include 75% of medical students nationally, and engaged over 700 students through our specialized training programs.● Pioneered a longitudinal mentorship program, connecting 80 mentees with 18 global mentors, complemented by 15 extensive training sessions.● Orchestrated the first Wikipedia Editing Course for Palestinian Medical Students, engaging 57 participants from six medical schools nationwide. This initiative significantly enhanced the quality and accuracy of +20 medical articles on Wikipedia. Up to this date, those pages have been viewed more than 702,000 times.

The World Medical Association (WMA) is the global federation of National Medical Associations that represent millions of physicians worldwide. The WMA endeavors to achieve the highest possible standards of medical care, ethics, education and health-related human rights for all people.In my ongoing capacity at the World Medical Association as a Junior Doctor Member, I support the association's working committees, participate in General Assemblies and Council Meetings, and help communicate key issues of interest to physicians globally. I also develop reference materials as needed. My contributions have significantly shaped the association's efforts in areas like Medical Personnel Protection and E-health & Medical Technology, where I helped develop high-quality health policies.

Served on the Steering Committee of the Associate Membership, a leadership body responsible for directing the activities of associate members within the World Medical Association. My responsibilities included proposing changes to governance and processes, supporting the overarching goals of the WMA, and representing the collective interests of our associate members.

Our personalized and social learning platform and high-quality content are used by more than 1.5m current & future clinicians.Key responsibilities of this role include: ● Manage and administer the medical education program, enhancing its quality and providing mentorship and coaching for up to 20 medical students each semester within the designated region.● Regularly analyze and respond to feedback from monthly surveys to continually refine and improve the program's effectiveness.● Direct the Chapters Development Initiative as the senior project leader, aimed at cultivating a global community of medical students committed to leadership and educational transformation.● Co-lead the Competency Development project, designing a comprehensive framework that prepares future physicians with the essential competencies for professional excellence.● Designed and led the AI Matrix Project, an initiative to provide medical students and future physicians with a strategic guide on integrating artificial intelligence for enhanced personal and professional efficiency. Awarded the "Most Innovative Project" at the Osmosis Hackathon 2024.

The Osmosis Medical Education Fellowship is a program designed by Osmosis, which aims to empower medical students and professionals to contribute to the advancement of medical education through various initiatives, projects, and community-building activities.A few highlights from this role have included:● Conducted four major capacity-building events, enhancing learning techniques and project management skills among healthcare professionals from the region.● Authored and reviewed influential educational content, including two peer-reviewed articles published on the Osmosis Blog.● Played a pivotal role in sustaining a vibrant community of +100 medical professionals across the globe by initiating and leading discussions, forums, and networking events that fostered a collaborative and supportive educational environment.

During my intensive 12-month internship, I gained hands-on experience across various critical departments including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, radiology, intensive care, primary health, and psychiatry. This diverse clinical exposure honed my diagnostic and treatment planning skills while providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population.Key Achievements:● Comprehensive Patient Care: Assessed and managed treatment for over 700 patients, ensuring meticulous documentation and follow-up on their progress.● Patient Management: Successfully handled more than 50 patient referrals, optimizing the continuity of care across different medical specialties.● Documentation & Compliance: Meticulously documented patient encounters and treatment plans, ensuring all actions were validated by supervising physicians.● Educational Contributions: Delivered six scientific presentations, sharing knowledge and fostering learning among peers and senior staff, and successfully conducted a clinical audit to enhance departmental practices.● Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborated with healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines to provide holistic care and support departmental objectives.

In this leadership role at the PMSA under the IFMSA, which is a global network that connects over 1.3 million medical students worldwide, I spearheaded national public health initiatives, effectively elevating the role of medical students in shaping public health policy and practice in Palestine. My key achievements included:● Strategic Oversight: Established the Public Health Committee’s Strategic Priorities based on survey data analysis, enhancing the impact of health programs across the national landscape.● Program Activation: Successfully activated the Public Health International Exchange Program in Palestine, signing five exchange contracts to facilitate intercultural learning and multinational collaboration.● Program Development: Orchestrated a range of national public health campaigns and programs, focusing on critical issues such as COVID-19 awareness, mental health, antibiotics awareness, and community health education, which boosted public awareness of +1500 across the nation.● Capacity Building: Led training and development efforts that empowered +400 medical students with skills in leadership, advocacy, and public health management, thereby strengthening the healthcare system's response to public health challenges.
