As an Assistant Scientist - Socio-economic-Market and Gender Research my role is to undertake Socio-economic Market and Gender research studies related to IRRI-PPP and publish results. My job is to support the partners in developing gender-responsive product profiles through the generation and validation of socioeconomic and Market data and consultations with private partners. Also, I am helping partners to develop their capacities in Socioeconomic, Market, and Gender research.

The Business Standard is a Dhaka-based business focus English daily. My role is to lead the research team. I am responsible to generate data-driven news stories and infographics from the open data for domestic and global economic trends and to make them meaningful to a wider audience. ● Responsible for conducting research on various business-related topics and industries to assist journalists and writers in the creation of articles, reports, infographics, and other editorial content.● Gathering and analyzing data including reports, global economic trends, and market research reports.Verifying data and statistics from authentic sources, and facts presented in news stories, social media posts, and other digital media content.● Collaborating with journalists and editors to ensure that their stories are accurate by providing them with fact-checking resources and verifying information in their stories.● Providing insights and recommendations based on research findings.Writing briefs or summaries on research findings for editors and journalists.● Follow up the global and economic trend● Follow up on the quality and standard of the infographics in print● Writing data-driven stories on various sectors including agriculture, food and nutrition security, water, and climate change.

My role was to interview participants for fisheries research conducted by East Carolina University in the US, manage all logistics for fieldwork travel, translate interview texts from Bengali into English for reports and progress reports, provide on-the-ground insight and knowledge to ensure local context of research was understood, and oversee other data collectors for consistency in methods.

I managed and coordinated research activities. I also did programme planning and reporting, methodology development, field visit, primary data collection, secondary data gathering, analysis, report writing and presentation.● Rigorous quantitative macroeconomic research under CPD's Flagship Programme Independent Review of Bangladesh Development (IRBD).● Management of the macro database for the IRBD research programme.● Conducted Executive Opinion Survey (EOS 2018 & 2019) for World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report.● Field survey for Ready-made Garments Sector’s wage debt analysis.● Qualitative & Quantitative Research and Data Analysis to deliver the quality publication● Follow up on SDGs and their implementation challenges in Bangladesh● Communication & Coordination to facilitate smooth project implementation with civil society organizations

Responsible for secondary data compilation, primary survey, data analysis, writing articles, fact sheets and case stories. Also, helped CPD, particularly with macroeconomics, trade, investment, the business environment in Bangladesh, and sustainable development issues.

I acted as a research scholar to support International Rice Researcher Institute (IRRI). My work focused on ‘Models to attract youth to agriculture’. I documented the participation and perceptions of youth in coastal agriculture of polder 30 to find out the factors influencing them to enter or exit the farming lifestyle. I created a model to attract youths to agriculture for future food security.

My job was to review the recheck data analysis and rewrite reports from analyzed data on the perception of services quality of the AM service providers on different dimensions of quality across CHS-AM models.

Designed and conducted extensive field visits throughout Bangladesh to gather information on ‘Community-based Fisheries Management’, collected data, information and analyzed those to produce reports and publications.

I managed and coordinated all the activities of field surveys to see the role of women in traditional rice production and Rabi crops with and without improved water management. I also identified the opportunity created for coastal women by improved water management. I managed all the logistics support for foreign researchers and stakeholders related to these projects. I also worked as an interpreter for them.

The key role was to find out the impact of Community Water Management (CWM) of Blue Bold Program on the improvement of gender and livelihood situation and the income generation. I documented the opportunity created by improved water management.I also found out the role of women in the community water management for HYV rice and Rabi crops production, and impact of the new roles on women’s empowerment.

This was my first part-time job during my university studies. My key role was to maintain all the documents related to the project, and provide logistics support for foreign researchers and stakeholders related to the project. I also worked as an interpreter for them.My second role was to conduct surveys for primary data, case study, data entry, data cleaning, analysis and help my supervisor to prepare reports and presentations.
