My research interests are focused on the things that happen at interfaces between molecules and how molecules pack into thin films. I relish finding innovative ways to investigate molecular diffusion within thin films. I am particularly interested in stimuli-responsive soft materials (e.g. polymers, colloids, and gels) system. Here at the Materials Research Laboratory, I have been providing training to students, postdocs and faculty members on various instrumental techniques, such as spectroscopic (e.g. UV-Vis, Raman, FTIR, DRIFTS, ATR, fluorescence, ellipsometry), x-ray analysis (e.g. XPS, XRD, XRF, SAXS), thermal analysis (e.g. TGA, DSC), light scattering (e.g. zetasizer) and mechanical analysis (e.g. DMA, rheology).
