Specifically, I am working to address the need for sophisticated heat rejection methods that will be required by future satellites to keep their electronics within a safe operating range. I am also involved in the development of a 1U payload that will be launched for testing in low-Earth orbit in mid-2024. This payload will showcase a novel phase change material cooling technology. In my role as a postdoctoral fellow, I am responsible for designing and developing 3D printed heat sinks using CAD/CFD modeling, conducting extensive laboratory testing, assembling the overall payload, writing proposals, and supervising and teaching.
