Profile bio

About Mohammad Asaduzzaman

Being trained as an anthropologist, I've been captivated by humans, situations, and initiatives. Now, I am collaborating with a team behind the Scaling up Sanitation Market System in Bangladesh. Our efforts have centered around mobilizing Entrepreneur' and market system development initiatives while concurrently empowering a cohort of 4,000 rural sanitation entrepreneurs to advocate for and ensure the accessibility of human (User)-centered design solutions for 1.2 million households in the rural landscapes. My professional voyage was laid in 2006 as I embarked on my exploration of Anthropological studies. As the years unfolded, my intellectual odyssey led me to Health Economics, a field that expanded my horizons and nurtured my quantitative reasoning faculties. In the recent chapters, I undertook a postgraduate program in Film direction and Storytelling, a pursuit that enriched my ability to convey narratives with depth and resonance.I am fluent in applying Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), a methodology that empowers communities to be the architects of their transformation. With an innate proficiency in advocating for solutions that are not only viable and feasible but also deeply desirable, I have honed the craft of crafting strategies by utilizing enterprises' Business Model Canvas (BMC), Participatory design and providing a structured framework through which visionary entrepreneurs' development strategies are brought to life. A cornerstone of my approach involves establishing enduring partnerships, bridging the realms of the public, private, and civil society entities. This integrative approach ensures that our efforts resonate harmoniously with the aspirations of the communities we seek to serve.I have contributed to six peer-reviewed journals, such as PLOS ONE, BMC Research Notes, Food and Nutrition Bulletin SAGE, BMJ Open, and EcoHealth. My insights have also found a platform in distinguished conferences, such as the World Toilet Summit 2018, where I contributed as a panelist on behavioral change. Besides, I participated in the DCED global seminar in 2016, focusing on the intricacies of result measurement.Recently, I won a SPARK grant from the Paul Polak Fund. This helped us to test the "Exploring Environment-Friendly Vetiver Grass Technology for Enhancing Durability and Improving Maintenance of Improved Latrines" within the scope of SanMarkS II project districts. This milestone is a testament to my leadership role, underscoring my unwavering dedication to catalyzing transformative change.
