About Mohammad Asim
I am a translational cancer scientist working on targeted therapy of prostate cancer. My work primarily focusses on the identification of molecular/cellular mechanisms that lead to the development of castrate resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). In particular I am developing therapeutic strategies to inhibit the oncogenic transcription factor the Androgen Receptor (AR) which is the major driver of the disease with an overall goal to eradicate CRPC or delay its onset.

I am a cellular and Molecular Biologist by training and I carry out translational/pre-clinical research on cancer with the aim to understand the mechanism of cancer progression. I also work on transcriptional Biology trying to understand the role of oncogenic transcription factors in cancer. More specifically my research is focussed on understanding the failure of hormone and radiation therapy of prostate cancer.
