During the summer internship at Cognitive Medical Systems, I was involved in the R&D department and worked on different subjects related to Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS). My research involved the following areas: - logical data models, and their underlying mapping into physical data models such as FHIR- Computer Interpretable Clinical Guidelines and BPMN- Order set customization- Rule-based knowledge systems- Clinical rule authoring

Generally, my research is related to Knowledge Reasoning and Representation techniques (Production Rule-based systems, Answer Set Programming, Clinical Data Modeling, Ontology Modeling, Rule Authoring), and Multi-Agent Systems in Clinical Decision Support Systems. One aspect of my research is related to clinical data modeling and their underlying Ontology. Portability, readability and maintainability are some of the factors that are needed to be considered for any future clinical data models. As part of ongoing research in this area, I am interested in development/extension of systems that are capable of mapping between high level and machine level knowledge representation. Having said that, we can choose different reasoner for each specific purpose in each specific domain. Also, as part of my research, I am working on formalization of BPMN 2.0 for model checking and compliant measurement using action-based languages (such as C+). One specific usage of the mentioned formalization is in healthcare systems in order to ftranslate clinical workflows into an action-based languages for online planing.
