Key Responsibilities: ● Oversee the appointment of academic staff, including contractors. ● Ensure adequate teaching cover is in place in the case of sickness or absence.● Supervise the year planner, class timetable, grade tracking sheets, and VLE (Virtual Learning Environment).● Guide the use and development of the College Student Handbook, Programme Handbooks, and Module Handbooks.● Develop a system to capture students' journey, ranging from induction and enrolment to attendance, assessment, work placement, progression, and successful course completion.● Ensure that the College is meeting the expectations of the College Governing Body (CoB), Office for Students (OfS), other regulators, franchisors, and awarding bodies.● Support the Head of Quality in delivering quality assurance, developing policies, staff training, and standardisation.● Respond effectively to external bodies, including awarding bodies, Student Finance England, the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA), local authorities, etc.● Work closely with sub-committees, including the Academic Board, SMT to deliver an integrated service across all campuses.● Maintain excellent relations with the College Student Representatives and ensure constructive and participative engagement and an effective student voice.● Implement attendance policy and chair the Student Management Group (SMG) to ensure effective management of students at high risk of dropping out and take early intervention.● Keep abreast of the HE sector and take the initiative for staff development.
