KUL03 Microsoft Data Centre Phase 2 & 137kV GIS Substation

Currently i am the Environmental Officer under the main contractor Pembinaan Tetap Teguh Sdn. Bhd. for main infrastructure works at Bandar Universiti Pagoh, Muar Johor. Bandar Universiti Pagoh is MALAYSIA'S FIRST INTEGRATED HIGHER EDUCATION HUB develop by Sime Darby Development Berhad. As an Environmental Officer my duties are:1. Implementing the DOE’s EIA Conditions of Approval at site; 2. Implementing the Environmental Quality Act 1974 at site;3. Assist in preparation for Environmental Compliance Audit by Third Party;4. Assist in preparation for Sime Darby Quality audit; 5. Preparing the Environmental Safety & Health monthly report for submission to Sime Darby Pagoh Development Sdn. Bhd.; 6. Preparing the Environmental Quality (Air, Noise and Water) Monitoring report for submission to DOE Johor;7. Assist in sampling for air, noise and water quality monitoring data;8. Handling scheduled waste storage and disposal based on DOE Guidelines and Environmental Quality Act 19749. Reporting online on scheduled waste inventory through Electronic Scheduled Waste Information System (eSWIS) to DOE10. Implementing a Best Management Practices (BMPs) for erosion and sediment control;11. Preparing and revising the Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (ESCP) from time to time to suit site condition; and12. Organizing environmental induction talk to construction workers.

I have been exposed to various projects involving international, national, regional conservation and planning works. This exposure has made me more adept to strategic planning involving different levels of authority, stakeholders and communities.As the only environmental analyst here, I am the main researcher and writer involved in managing all environmental outputs for various projects. My role involves ensuring planning documents adhere to existing environmental laws, order and guidelines set by various environmental related agencies such as Department of Environment, Department of Geoscience and Mineral, Department of Drainage and Irrigation, Department of Forestry, Department of Wildlife and National Park, Department of National Heritage and many more. I also advise and develop sustainable approaches on different scales for masterplans, strategic documents and blueprints released by the company.
