I have been promoted to the role of a Senior Technician by my current employer.The role involves a range of supervisory duties such as Release of finished products in the premises which are released and packed at the packing bench.The other task I have been made responsible for is to approve the use of incoming materials required for production purpose which ranges from using of ready to use items such as I-123 isotopes that are dispensed in the strile isolators for customer use. This aside I also evaluate the use of technicium generators, consumables required for cleanroom use.To add to the above, I am presently undergoing training of supervising the manufacturing of radioactive doses in the grade A isolators.Finally I am also responsible for training of new staff, their supervision throughout the spect department.

• I have been employed by Curium Pharma as a Radiopharmacy Technician. • This is a shift based role that involves starting times are 6 am to 3 pm as well as 7 am to 4 pm.I manufacture various types of isotope doses using negative pressure isolators• As part my quality investigation , I perform Endotoxin analysis on the Galium isotope batch sample using the Charles River Nexgen-ms software as well as the ITLC chromotographic analysis of the same batch sample with the use of the Agilent Technologies Affinity 1260 device. .The other duties include packaging of up Radiopharmacy isotopes in cases and bags which are to be delivered to the external clients as well as internal clients by using the online software called Veenstra.• Performing of blood Glomerular Filtrate Radioactivity assessment of patients administered the DTPA isotope by using a gamma data analysing programme, performed on the patient’s blood samples.• Discarding of radiopharmaceutical waste. . Apart from the above, I also assist in environmental monitoring of the grade A isolators using MAS air sampler and also particle count sampler. I also document temperatures, radiation levels, calibrate weighing scales and isotope calibrators as per rota which has equipped me with good documentation skills. This job includes both production and quality assurance elements which makes it realy interesting.My duties are versatile and include compounding of clinical trials of aseptic and non-aseptic nature in seperate manufacturing rooms, as well as this I am also responsible for generating labels, arranging the trial prescription from the ward for specific subject, delivering the finished product to the ward. Apart from this I also use isolators for sterile manufacturing and broth validations, perform daily checks on isolators, read environmental monitoring agar plates, conduct particle count of different areas in the cleanroom using an Apex P5 particle counter, undertake cleaning procedures on weekly and monthly basis and to also monitor temperatures in the fridges and incubators using a software called PEMS.An intruguing element of my role is to also maintain the pharmacy stock, recieve deliveries which can be trial specific and also general pharmacy stock. Finally to also disponse of waste generate through the manufacture process.

Apart from this, I also perform operator validations, process validation as well as environmental monitoring of the manufacturing unit.

I have been employed on a permanent contract at a drug unit belonging to Baxter healthcare, based in Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood, London. This particular unit specialises in the manufacturing of cancer medications to be supplied to Mount Vernon Hospital as well as other hospitals. The job revolves around a shift pattern and involves working primarily within a Grade D cleanroom. My duties at the job involve managing a team of production technicians, training of the technicians, manufacturing of medications within specified isolators, producing sanitisation reports for cleaning of ancillaries and others items needed for the drug manufacture.Apart from the above, I also label items required to be delivered to the clients. My effrots and dedication have earned me the award of the employee of the year 2017 at the company.
