Adjunct Teaching Professor
CurrentI am excited to contribute to the growth and development of students by teaching a range of courses that I am deeply passionate about. This semester, I will be guiding and mentoring aspiring minds in the fields of MATLAB, Solidworks, and Senior Design Projects. 🚀 These subjects lie at the intersection of innovation and practical application, and I am eagerly looking forward to helping students not only grasp the theoretical foundations but also apply them to real-world scenarios.
Graduate Teaching Assistant
• Persuaded undergrad students to pursue and strengthen their skills in core Mechanical Engineering courses and labs (Fundamentals of Thermodynamics, Applied Thermodynamics, Thermal-Fluid Systems Laboratory, Aerodynamics, and Propulsion Laboratory).• Graded assignments, proctored exams, and held weekly office hours to provide tutoring and support to students as needed.
Graduate Research Assistant
• Developed a novel boundary condition to simulate unsteady real sea wave conditions passing through turbines for wave energy harvesting.• Utilized Solidworks and ANSYS CFX to design a novel bi-directional Axial flow turbine with hybrid airfoils to enhance the operating range and peak efficiency by 9.5% and 1.9%, respectively.• Incorporated triangular-shaped serration patterns on the Wells turbine blades trailing edge to reduce the vortex shedding, as demonstrated in flow visualization through post-processing, to increase the peak efficiency by 1.5%.• Modified the standard Denniss-Auld turbine blades design to reduce the mechanical complexity of blades pivoting, producing even better performance than the Wells turbine for high angle of attack flow.• Designed and simulated Unsteady, Turbulent, and Multiphysics flow with dynamic meshing through a user-defined function using ANSYS Fluent on a Numerical Wave Tank (NWT) that can assess the static pressure variation along the lower wall of a wave tank with reasonable accuracy.
Manufacturing Engineer
• Led and monitored the maintenance of an automated Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Ladle refinery Furnace (LRF).• Gained hands-on experience attending the breakdowns.• Effectively reduced the breakdown time with the scheduled routine maintenance of the machines and the equipment: Anodes cooling system, shell and roof cooling systems, Carbon and Oxygen injection systems, Raw materials handling systems (RMHS) and Fume treatment Plant (FTP).• Organized and administered technical and safety training to the team members.• Maintained documentation for the breakdowns and the inventories.
