The Work Experience for Youth (WEXY) Program and SummerWorks provides work experience opportunities to low-income youth with barriers to job placements for Multnomah and Washington Counties. As the Work Experience SNAP Coach I designed and implemented paid work experiences for SNAP recipient youth served by NextGen service contractors and other providers. Also as a Lead SummerWorks Coach I lead and mentored other SummerWorks coaches in addition to carrying a case load. I currently serve as a Career Coach for the SummerWorks and YEP programs. ESSENTIAL TASKS: • Facilitating youth work experiences to include worksite matching, site supervisor relations and relationships with case managers and service coordinators• Since IRCO is the employer on record, assure that youth paperwork is submitted timely and accurately. Maintain close communication with NextGen contractors and other referring partners to ensure support needs are met and problems resolved that would be barriers to successful program participation and completion• Prepare quarterly reports for Career Boost (SNAP) records and other program reporting requirements• Regularly report to program coordinator and/or manager, attend program meetings• Monitor, train and advise work-site employers on roles, expectations and laws appropriate to working with minors• Provide oversight and guidance to temporary SummerWorks staff as necessary• Lead and facilitate Work Readiness Trainings for youth as necessary• Perform SNAP eligibility of participants and monthly SNAP verification in i-Match system• Maintain data-entry for Career Boost (SNAP) services in I-Trac within 5 business days of services• Participate in quarterly Career Boost service provider meetings, monthly NextGen provider meetings, ongoing SummerWorks program meetings, and IRCO departmental programs

As a SummerWorks Career Coach, I provided workforce development services to low-income youth with barriers who are disconnected from traditional high schools, or lacking the basic skills and credentials to enter college or career pathway employment.
