Head Of Product Management

Menlo Park, California, Us

• Building a Product Management team to manage mobile consumer experiences on Android OS modules and apps.

Sep 2016 - Feb 2017

Senior Product Manager, Advertising Products

Seattle, Wa, Us

• Launched the Deals Advertising platform for Amazon. The product offering allows advertisers to promote limited time deals on Amazon’s ad network across Desktop, Mobile, Offsite and Fire devices. Worked with the Executive team to drive the program from inception through launch, spanning multiple S-Team and SVP level goals. Drove weekly and monthly business reviews with Engineering, Operations, Sales and Finance partners to manage the business. • Built a highly successful personalization program that delivers Amazon recommendations to user’s Kindle lock screens, starting with eBooks. Prioritized the backlog to expand reach and increase ePPM (profit per thousand impressions). Worked with Engineering to build the technical plumbing to deliver recommendations, and the Design team to create ad creative for books. Ran weekly business reviews with cross team business leaders to track the program and deliver on a $MM+ year-end revenue goal.• Launched Private Beta of a CPC-bidded product that allows Kindle e-book Authors to advertise their books on E-Ink Reader lock screens. Worked with the Books team, Marketing, Engineering and Design to take the product though the entire development lifecycle from early marketing analysis, requirements gathering, UX design through development and system testing to the Beta launch.• Product owner for advertising campaign management tools for app developers. This was the first program to auto generate ads for the Kindle lockscreen experience. Given the disconnected nature of Kindle devices, I worked with Engineering to abstract out a set of APIs to provide programmatic access to creative generation, campaign management, editorial review and metrics.

Jan 2014 - Sep 2016

Technical Product Manager, International Retail

Seattle, Wa, Us

• Joined International Category Expansion as a Technical Product Manager to develop a store expansion platform that simplifies how business teams launch new stores in marketplaces. My responsibilities involved integrating our platform (via restful services) with various service teams in our e-commerce platform to automatically set up the new store. I’ve worked with an international set of business stakeholders and end-users from Category Leaders and Vendor Managers to Site Merchandisers to define the product roadmap. This was a very unique opportunity to learn about all the moving parts of our e-commerce platform and understand how product information flows from merchant and vendors through Retail Systems, Operations and our Amazon.* websites. And just importantly how our business teams use technology to expand Amazon’s footprint internationally.• Led the SDLC standardization effort that involved traveling to India to collaborate with Dev/QA managers and engineers to design a development process and release calendar that better suited our unique remote setup. I also championed and rolled out Rally (rallydev.com) to the 20+ member engineering team.

Sep 2012 - Dec 2013

Constantly engaged customers and managers to balance cost/scope. Led a 16-person team using the Agile/Scrum development process in a matrix organization. Developed a 2 year strategic application road-map through collaboration with I/S and Clients.• Increased team productivity (velocity and morale) using focused backlog, team building, retrospectives and improved internal/external communication. Led process improvement initiatives in Lean/Agile adoption, Environment readiness, Performance and Integration testing.

Jul 2011 - Aug 2012

Senior Program Manager

Madison, Wi, Us

• Program lead for the Fall 2011 release of the radiation delivery console software. The release introduced a patient safety critical capability that allowed the therapist to control the couch from outside the radiation chamber. In this role, I ensured timely delivery of major features through task/estimates management. Collaborated with Marketing, Project Management, Requirements and Validation groups in an ongoing manner to drive product through development process. Provided clear visibility to external stakeholders via project meetings, daily stand-ups and burn-down charts.• Led company-wide developing process improvement initiatives including the adoption of Scrum to replace Waterfall, and changing our software release cycle from a single monolithic release to quarterly major and minor releases. I rolled out iceScrum, an agile tool, to a 13-person cross-functional team. Received my Product Owner certification (CSPO) during this period as well.
