The consistent need of an open source advanced management systems and to collab-orative tools, which will provide advanced algorithms to attain a comprehensive global and optimized local manufacturing assist and to provide quick and active response to unpredicted changes. To make the collaboration more easy and interactive, an inter-face with advanced features of understanding the users’ context adaptation and data optimisation and presentation becomes an important requirement. A successful project by FAST-lab, ASTUTE, aims at providing a set of tools to develop proactive and adaptive HMI for information retrieval and delivery depending on situa-tional context and information content and services and user state information. The architecture of the tool captures users’ intention and optimises the choice available for the user. The architecture allows multiple instantiations of different domains to be demonstrated in soft real time.Reusability is a versatile functionality of Semantic Model or Ontology. As ASTUTE is a tool to provide a proactive and adaptive HMI in different domain to demonstrate differ-ent types of process. C2NET also require a mobile application for monitoring of the supply chain network notifications and user collaboration. So, reusing the ASTUTE ontology for C2NET can be very beneficial. The ontology-based models will be updated in the run time according to the situation so that the mobile application can make meaningful and helpful adaptation based on the models.

As a Research Assistant, my responsibility was to develop a demo of the User Interface of the Project I was involved (C2NET). My responsibility was to research the proposed architecture and evaluate the feasibility, Implement the knowledge base according to the description of the project requirement and user type, research and propose possible adaptation effect of the UI and research the feasibility of implementation of ASTUTE project architecture for C2NET User collaborative portal (UCP).
