A native of Pakistan, Dr. Mohammad Kagzi holds an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from the University of Karachi, Dow Medical College. Dr. Kagzi currently runs Midwest Sleep Institute in Gurnee, Illinois. Through comprehensive polysomnographs, or sleep studies, Dr. Mohammad Kagzi diagnoses any number of breathing, movement, and neurological dysfunctions in patients suffering from sleep disorders, and he prescribes the most beneficial course of action for treatment. A diagnostic polysomnograph, such as those performed at Midwest Sleep Institute, is an overnight monitoring process for identifying breathing disorders and periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD). Additionally, Dr. Kagzi’s practice performs a variety of other sleep studies that include CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) titration, split night sleep, and multiple sleep latency studies. In each of these polysomnographs, the physicians and technicians closely examine a patient’s sleeping patterns to help them understand and treat the symptoms and causes of his or her ailment.Prior to founding Midwest Sleep Institute, Dr. Mohammad Kagzi spent several years working as a Primary Care Physician for Southeast Missouri (SEMO) Health Network and as an Emergency Care Physician for Missouri Delta Medical Center (MDMC). As a result of his dedication to patient health, he earned a promotion to Medical Director at SEMO Health Network. At MDMC, Dr. Kagzi worked in a high-stress, high-volume, level II trauma center, where he treated thousands of patients annually. While practicing in Missouri, Dr. Mohammad Kagzi won the Surgeon General’s Award for Best Performing Diabetes Program in rural Missouri.Licensed to practice medicine in Missouri and Illinois, Dr. Mohammad Kagzi possesses certification in advanced trauma life support (ATLS).
