The internship was about maintenance planning in which the types and classifications of maintenance were identified, the roles of a maintenance planning engineer and a member of the progressive maintenance (PM) team in a factory were learnt and applied. Additionally, some particular inspection and maintenance operations have been spectated thoroughly.The training also included some lean manufacturing principles such as 5s, types of waste, and Integrated Work System(IWS) concepts.Moreover, many mechanical systems and components have been studied through theoretical technical training resources such as hydraulics and pneumatics, overhead cranes, bearings, drives, motors etc..Some specific technical knowledge has been given about paper mill manufacturing and online monitoring inspection.New skills were acquired such as reading manuals, extracting specifications, using Oracle as an EAM software, and many more.
