Equipment Reliability Engineer at Risktec Solution working at EDF Nuclear Power Plant• Station Obsolescence lead, leasing with engineers on plant to overcome any risk posed by obsolete components and devising a solution with the help of an international organisation (POMS/Westinghouse Gateshead UK).• Carrying out preventive maintenance optimisation review to reduce the risk imposed by over maintaining equipment.• The biggest project completed during my time at station was to carry out an extensive review on Chemistry analytical equipment all over the plant, to comply with standards set by Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR). • Complete equipment reliability review on parts of plant, a detailed overlook on all the work that has been completed/planned/cancelled, previous incident which posed a risk to nuclear safety and commercial risk, any defects on plant which was logged during the review period and identify obsolete equipment present on the plant.• Carry out daily self-assessment for the team, gauging our performance against the objectives set by the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). Identifying any shortcomings, where further improvement can be made to excel and become the pioneers in nuclear safety and operations throughout the world. • Frequent plant tours to physically identify equipment, assess the conditions and observe any anomalies, followed by further investigation if needed. • Nuclear safety is imprinted in my daily lifestyle, a set of 10 traits we abide by when working on a EDF Nuclear power plant. A nature of discipline which can only be attained by working on an active nuclear site.• Data handling and analysing is a massive part in this role, tools used to aid in analyses and handling are Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Visual Basis Analyses (VBA), where SQL is used as the programming language.
