Cleans instruments and uses all solutions and machines appropriately and according to the manufacturer's instructions.Delivers a decontaminated item to the Preparation Area using correct procedures.Inspect cleanliness, working action and condition of all products requiring sterilization.Sterilizes products by established methodology.Checks product completion against pre-established checklists or product specification.Distributes products to customers according to top-up lists or ad hoc requests.Reports non-functioning equipment to Technician lor Nursing Supervisor, CSSD immediately.Demonstrate effective communication skills.Report identified problems to Nursing Supervisor, CSSD in a timely manner.Participates in professional training and update activities.Suggests methods in which errors or quality problems could be reduced.Participates in the orientation of new employees.Assumes responsibility and accountable for own actions, decisions and behaviours.Demonstrates initiative in the performance of duties requiring a minimum amount of supervision or guidance.Anticipates and acts to maintain a safe environment for self and others.Takes direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations - Critical thinking ability.Complies with and participates in Quality Management program, improvement processes and activities.Uses the chain of command appropriately to communicate and resolve problems.Participate in teaching and mentoring of Nursing, Medical and Paramedical students, Interns and Residents.Performs other related duties as assigned.Ensures maintenance and safe operating of equipment.Complies with hospital infection control and safety protocols.
