As a mentor leader for the Faculty of Science & Engineering for the new to Curtin Mentor Program:•Deliver mentor training on “role boundaries” & “managing role responsibilities”•Lead a group of 30-40 mentors from the faculty •Ensure mentors adhere to their role commitments •Be the first point of contact for all mentors•Record & provide feedback to communication between mentors & mentees•Liaise between mentor team and school mentor program coordinators•Assist with planning & delivery of End of year program event•Assist with the development of an End of Year report on the programThe above role is voluntary and selection process is based on performance during the previous role as student mentor and other factors such as academics etc

As a part of of this program, senior students from respective faculties provide assistance to new students in order to make their transition into University as smooth as possible.The role entails:• Attending a faculty specific training session before Orientation.• Meeting respective mentees on faculty O-Day.• Keeping regular contact with each mentee primarily via email or even other social media platforms throughout the semester.• Providing necessary help to mentees within the role boundaries, otherwise directing them to the appropriate services/departments.• Submitting a written reflection of my role at the end of semester.The above role was voluntary and the selection process was based on strict criteria such as academics, communication skills (mainly written) etc
