I am a trained political scientist and I have over a decade experience in international development research and program management . My research interest focuses on the political economy of development, in particular, understanding constraints to citizens’ political participation, government accountability and welfare provision in new democracies with a regional focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. My program management experience falls into four themes/areas: transparency, participation and accountability practices and its effect on citizen-state relations; decentralization, urban and local governance; the politics of public goods provision and social protection policy and programs. Much of my research has been on Ghana where I have published on these areas widely. I have skills, and expertise in policy analysis, qualitative research, program design, project management, training facilitation, building monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning systems.
