Worked on the development of cell culture-based products through scale-up, cell bank, and pilot-scale production of adherent and suspension cell lines including HEK293, CHO, SF9, and Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs). Planned and produced of multiple glycoproteins at 5L scale in packed-bed SUB as well as 10L scale in a stirred tank SUB, with subsequent UF/DF and downstream affinity purification. Process development on upstream and downstream processes.Executed stem cell studies in well-plates to investigate various growth conditions of corneal epithelial cells, as well as MSC’s from umbilical cord, breast milk, and adipose tissue. Performed analytical techniques on protein products including SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and Bradford Assay. Gained some experience with ultrafiltration/diafiltration as well as affinity chromatography of protein products for purification. Gained additional experience with shake flask studies and operation of pilot-scale bioreactors up to 10L for bacterial fermentation. Followed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) for all work completed. Assisted in training research interns on cell culture techniques, laboratory equipment, and analytical techniques. Performed laboratory maintenance and general upkeep of laboratory equipment including BSC’s, Lyophilizer, fill line, and bioreactor control units.

Worked with a variety of health professionals to increase efficiency in Holy Cross Hospital Emergency Room by documenting patient information, history, symptoms, diagnoses, and disposition.Transcribed special instructions from physicians in order to achieve a high level of patient care.
