Global Fx SupportJpmorgan Chase & Co.Daily running of GFX Support e-Trading Level 1, a complex array of applications in a very rapidly changing environment with 3 members in LDN and 3 in NYK.Responsible for training / mentoring new members.Liaised with support, development and test teams to improve team response and build relationships.Managing individual team member projects to improve system / monitoring functionality, including merger related activities with Bank One.Helped advise traders of ways in which the system can be utilised to better their performance. This included new rate feeds and changes in static data to protect against off-market trading.Helped with releases and testing of new version of e-trading applications, this also included assisting front office post-rollout.Managed to raise the team profile from one of the worst performing teams to the best in our group and broadened our scope.Key objective of this role was to realign infrastructure teams in NY to be application focused. Having identified issues, which affected latency in the FX application trade flow we managed to reduce average rate updates to clients from 900ms to 35ms. Significant improvements were seen by business and new benchmarks set.GFX High Availability Application Cluster Project. This was a major 12-month project to improve the existing infrastructure and introduce High Availability and automated failover to systems. Successfully migrated 7 applications, responsible for $6Billion of trades a day, without any interruption to business. -
Asset Management SupportJp MorganWas responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the eGate and MQ Series architecture. This included trouble shooting issues and implementing solutions on multiple environments. Development, UAT and production. The eGate infrastructure was utilised by over 20 development and trading teams globally, each with their own specific architecture. Improved support alert and response times by developing appropriate tools for team members, mainly using shell scripts and CA Unicenter, as well as improving support operating procedures.First to develop a workable change management solution that would be accepted across all 3 locations. As I was the middleware teams release manager I was involved with various applications globally and had a good insight into producing this solution. This also required excellent interpersonal skills as different development managers had very varied timescales and priorities. Responsible for the Middleware team's business continuity testing on site in Glasgow, London and New York. Being an expert on the middleware architecture, I was required to supervise and further enhance BC procedures. -
