Interface Wien is a social counselling agency commissioned by the City of Vienna to provide free services to individuals with refugee and subsidiary protection status, supporting their integration into life in Vienna. It serves as the first point of contact for these individuals, addressing a broad range of questions related to their settlement in the city, including health, housing, legal matters, family issues, employment, and education.I am currently part of the housing counselling department, where I work with a team to provide clients with essential information about Vienna's housing market. We guide them through the process of successfully acquiring and maintaining accommodation, covering both financial and legal aspects to ensure they are well-equipped to navigate the housing landscape.

I am an independent researcher, worked/working in interdisciplinary fields related to technology as well as social work.- Together with Dr. Lukas Richter, I recently submitted a paper for review that explores the development of multimedia resources within the context of social work. - In 2016, I co-authored a paper with Prof. Helmut Tributsch, which examined the thermal and optical properties of polar bear fur to inspire more efficient solar energy harvesting systems.

As a master program student intern, I gained significant technical experience in a research laboratory, focusing on optimizing and solving complex issues related to solar energy harvesting systems. My work included researching the fiber optics hypothesis of polar bear hair at ITV Labs and solving Fresnel reflection problems using moth-eye nanostructures. This research culminated in a thesis awarded "Excellent/Pass with Distinction."

The Education Office within the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) runs an extensive educational program in Syria, aimed at rehabilitating students who have dropped out and supporting ongoing students from the refugee community. The program helps these beneficiaries overcome challenges related to the Syrian school curriculum, financial barriers, and other obstacles.The Education Office operates four different branches across Damascus, situated within refugee communities and staffed by 12 trained volunteers. These offices provide a range of services, including educational consultations, follow-up on school-related issues, private tutoring, educational courses, and quality monitoring of institutes funded by the UNHCR.I worked as a coordinator and assistant in the Education Office at the UNHCR in Syria, promoting and advocating for the critical importance of education within the refugee community. My main tasks included: - Advocating for the necessity of education within the refugee community. - Liaising between the main education office and its sub-offices to ensure a smooth flow of information. - Conducting both indoor and outdoor educational consultation sessions to provide beneficiaries with the necessary information. - Planning and organizing new and ongoing educational projects.

I taught a basic computer skills course to Syrian and Iraqi/Somali refugee children (aged 8-16), where the main aim of the programme was to encourage and create a positive after-school environment for both local and migrant children. The majority of the children from Iraq and Somalia faced difficulties with integration into public schools.
