As a Procurement and Materials Engineer working for a main contractor, my primary responsibility is to manage the procurement process for materials and equipment for construction projects. This includes developing purchasing plans, selecting and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, tracking material delivery, ensuring quality control, controlling costs, and providing regular reporting.Regarding the follow-up of requests for quotations and sending them to contractors and suppliers, my responsibility includes reviewing and checking the price comparison table, searching for new suitable suppliers, studying market resources, preparing technical packages, coordinating with the technical department, and carrying out technical work. Comparisons and negotiations with suppliers and contractors, cost analysis, updating follow-up files, central control, monitoring suppliers and contractors, resolving financial claims and disputes, ensuring regular payment, and complying with local and international procedures and policies.In terms of specific responsibilities and direct tasks, I am responsible for preparing and following up on ETFE system packages for Victor Voltic, ironworks packages for AIC, and coverage for Al-Obikan PTFE works. You are also responsible for following up on the supply list for ETFE items, updating the manifest, and tracking delays in supplies and approvals from the contractor for materials. In addition, you are responsible for following up on dinosaur packaging, floating ball packaging, and plaster work for walls, as well as submitting remaining and unapproved vector items to Dar for approval and following up on change orders with the commercial department for new products and updated items.
