I am an Indian, born and raised in Dubai, where I have done my studies.Since childhood, I have been keen of facing and taking up challenging tasks. Even my choice of subjects was based on how difficult they were. I had set my mind from grade 7 that I would choose Science stream after 10th grade as it was considered the most difficult stream to get through. It was during my 10th grade that I got exposed to words like Business, Accounts, etc. and gained some understanding about them. This became the turning point in my life. The fondness towards the subjects gradually grew and became my passion and later on I decided to build a career in Finance. Today, I hold Bachelors and Masters degree in finance.How High you can build entirely depends upon how Strong your foundation is. I refused to take up part-time jobs during my studies as it would have required sacrificing the time I had spent strengthening my foundation through better understanding of the fundamentals, hence the gap between my educational qualifications and work experience.Soon after my Masters I got the privilege to work with Dubai Duty Free as a Finance intern. Dubai Duty Free is one of the top ranked duty-free operations in the world with a huge finance department comprising of 70-100 employees working in different sub departments. Currently I am part of the accounts department of Al Madina Group, one of the leading retail chains of hypermarkets and supermarkets in the UAE. I am responsible for tasks such as reconciliation of bank accounts and intercompany accounts, closing of accounts, monitoring and ensuring proper maintenance of GL, etc. A brief insight into my modus operandi -• Being a quick learner helps me adapt to dynamic environments and find solutions to dynamic problems.• I try to work with the bigger picture in mind. I try to contribute my maximum towards adding value to the final output rather than being bothered only to finish the tasks I am assigned with. • I believe in smart work rather than hard work. • While assessing my performance I give importance to the quality of work over quantity. • I prefer taking up and completing one task at a time than working on multiple tasks which may lead to compromises in the quality and accuracy of the overall output.• I am a supporter of the kaizen philosophy and try to implement it in my work. Kaizen is a business philosophy that advocates gradual improvement in productivity by continuously making work more efficient at all levels.• I only promise what I am able to deliver, but always strive to deliver more value than promised.
