Last9 is a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Platform. I have been part of the Platform engineering team from day 0, contributing to architecture design and development of backend systems. I have also led the SRE team to ensure system reliability, scaling and resiliency. Some key projects which I have contributed to:Levitate: - Built a highly scalable, distributed ingestion pipeline. - Benchmarked and optimized production scale read workloads. - Extensively profiled the system for hotspots and enhanced caching strategies. - Engineered the backend to enhance observability and provide telemetry for faster detection and remediation of issues like cardinality explosion, latency spikes, queue buildup, etc. - Published, managed and met internal SLOs for - availability and latency for priority customers. - Led the team in auditing and reducing cloud costs by allocating the right kind of storage classes as per usage patterns.Multiple projects in the Platform Engineering team.IOX - input-output exchange tool - a highly distributed and resilient metric capture agent written in Golang which can work across multiple clouds and supports a variety of querying formats like Prometheus, Stackdriver, Cloudwatch, etc. - Extended the tool to support data sources which didn’t offer DSL capabilities e.g. akamai. S3-Log-Processing-Pipeline - One of the initial offerings of Last9 - a distributed and intelligent s3 log downloader, processor and metric converter for various AWS load balancers. - Added support to make it extensible for adding non-AWS load balancers like nginx, HAProxy, etc.Lead SRE - Incident commander for high severity issues - developed runbooks, conducted in-depth incident RCAs and tracked timely incident resolutions. - Introduced CI/CD practices via custom github actions and runners. - Led the team in achieving SOC2 audit. - Played the Solution architect role where required for developing custom solutions for new customers.

Trusting Social builds the next generation of credit score based on social data, to make lending faster, cheaper and friendlier. My role at Trusting Social has been to work as a founding member of site reliability team. To introduce processes and practices to improve the overall reliability of the software. - Contributed as a core developer of tessellate, an infrastructure management tool. Developed a common platform called SRE Runtime to run applications. Some Silent features of SRE Runtime: - On-demand infrastructure backed by tessellate. - Support for both in-cloud and on-premise deployments. - Nomad and Consul are used to run service/batch jobs. - Distributed File System support, backed by Portworx. - Inbuilt tools to use central monitoring pipeline for service and system monitoring. - Automated VPN connector to connect newly created infrastructure to a central VPN system. - Configured organisation-wide Central VPN System to support various product development teams and SRE with ACL support. - Migrated of all the services of all cloud-based products from AWS to GCP. - Configured a private CA Server for securing services running across the organisation. - Developed an HTTP reverse proxy to implement “namespaces” like feature in Nomad which is only available in Nomad Enterprise - Synchronous Data DR Setup on Bare metal Machines using Portworx. - Designed a generic and sufficiently customisable terraform layout (we named it “reference layout”), serving it via an HTTP service to enable teams to use existing versioned layouts with all the best practices incorporated in it. This helped us in saving a huge amount of time for every new infra setup.
