Initial "sealegs" as cadet started in 1982 with erstwhile Mogul Line Ltd. Joined Wallems as a Navigating officer and got my command in Dynacom Tankers Management. It did seem natural for me to progress as Head of Safety Department in 1997, but in retrospect , a difficult transition from sea to the desk. Needed that roll under my leg was the beckoning and Singapore seemed closer to home. As a senior consultant in IMCO I was exposed to strait pilotage, loss prevention surveys and then STS operations. This was perhaps the bedrock. A brief stint in stevedoring and some pilotage on India East Coast did not satiate the sea going legs and Fendercare came calling. Rest as they say is history. Joined Fendercare Marine in 1998/1999 and since then have had challenging growth graph in the Seething office. Somehow , I was in right place at the right time and different projects kept me glued to Fendercare. Indian Subcontinent energy requirement grew leaps and bounds and LPG Ship to Ship operations started in full swing. We progressed from 1 base to 10 bases in ISC handling all kinds of cargo. It was time for me to move on to new pastures and in LNG. As a first LNG POAC to Chittagong FSRUs progession was natural. As I gained more insight into LNG operations , I got more invovled in FCM's transition to LNG oeprations. World was seeing the change and it was but natural that we at FCM had to adapt. My present role as Global Marine and Technical Director , pits me into world energy transformation platform again and I do hope to see this through on my watch.
