Aerotraders was India's largest exporter of shoe uppers to the Soviet Union. I established the Chennai operations which involved:-procurement of raw material-contract tanning of the same into finished leathers-quality control of the raw material as well as the finished product and -all administrative responsibilities that go with running an establishment.Aerotraders is today, through their Woodlands Brand one of India's biggest shoe manufacturers and retailers.

Gordon Woodroffe was the pioneer of Finished Leather manufacturing in India. The company produced the finest glazed kid, finished hides and industrial leather, the bulk of which was exported to the parent company in England. I established the Northern India sales of the company and worked closely with several shoe upper and shoe manufacturers in the very nascent stages of this business in India. In addition, I established the shipping, air freight and customs handling business of the company in North India. I was also in charge of the supply of finished leather to Soviet Russia. I a nutshell, I gained valuable experience in every aspect of the business with this company.
