    • Conducted research on 3D printing of silicone with a suitable support material to print overhang structures.• Developed a new process to print silicone with plastics. Material extrusion based 3D printer has been modified to support printing of both silicone and plastics. • Adhesion between the identified support material (plastic) and silicone is determined. Based on this result, support material is identified.• Identified and analyzed critical printing parameters to print silicone with support material which include printing speed, minimum infill density for support material, flow rate, critical overhang angle and other printing parameters.• Addressed critical issue when part is printed without support structure even though the overhang angle of the part is above critical. Modeled and predicted print failure due to material properties of silicone and vibration due to the X and Y axis movement during printing using COMSOL.
