Salam and hello! My name is Hisham. I'm the managing director of Solaku, the Malaysian tech startup building platforms which help local communities earn a decent living. I come from a small town myself and have lived in one for almost 2/3 or my life. I've seen the miracles of technology in big cities like Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. And whenever I return back to my hometown I wonder if we too can have nice things.A fellow Toastmaster said to me "don't let a small town give you a small town mentality" and thus I decided to put together chicken wires and bubble gum to create a cheap prototype to replicate Grab to allow my town to enjoy. It gained traction and we managed to get RM1 mil yearly traction since 2020. It is from here we decided to make more proper platforms to benefit outskirts and under-served communities everywhere.As a father and entrepreneur, I've reached a stage where I want to stop hustling and over-glorifying overworking. I've been there and they are just short-term. I now want to build bridges for long-term peace and profit. And I will do it with the 9 platforms Solaku build such as Belibeli, WORKWÖRK and more.
