About Ir. Mohd Kamal Misdar

I have more than 22 years of work experience in mechanical engineering, much of it spent on engineering, requisition, and project management. I am familiar with engineering design processes and procedures and have undertaken Project management responsibilities including budget and contract management. I have carried out and reviewed Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), Vendor Data Review (VDR) works and witnessed Factory Acceptance Test of rotating and mechanical equipment.Major Milestones: 1. Was with Sapura-OMV Upstream as a key member of the team which has completed the Conceptual, FEED and EPCIC phases of Jerun CPP (600 MMSCFD) Project whilst leading the Mechanical discipline in all phases of the project.2. I was an Operation Manager with additional technical lead role, managing people and assets for UZMA particularly a 60,000 BPD converted jack-up water injection facility currently located at D18 MPA (a PETRONAS CPP at D18 Field). Ensured minimum 95% uptime for the facility to fulfill contractual obligation and hence revenue. UZMA Bhd is a medium sized (approx. 300 pax) main board listed (KLSE) local Malaysian production and services company.3. I provided hands on contribution as the dual role Resident Lead Rotating Equipment engineer (Influit – process equipment turnkey contractor) and Lead Mechanical Engineer (UZMA – owner operator) to design, fabricate and commission a 60,000 BPD water injection jack-up conversion project (at Keppel, Singapore). fabrication and testing of 3 nos. 30,000 BPD ea. gas engine driven water injection pump trains. 4. I was the Project Manager for Rotating Equipment Packages and Valves for a sour gas removal plant (a 700 MMSCFD Petronas Carigali owned TGAST project) using the Cameron (ex-Cynara, now part of Schlumberger) proprietary membranes. Managed to deliver all packages in time, under budget and few punch list including 2 nos. integrally Geared Centrifugal Compressors.5. I was a mechanical engineer for most of my career, focusing on rotating equipment including turbomachinery although I have also carried out design work for HVAC system, static packages, and piping. Although I have successfully delivered Gas Turbine Generators and compressor during EPC/EPCIC stage, I have participated in all stages of project engineering delivery for sweet and sour facilities, including Conceptual design, FEED, Detail Design, HAZID/HAZOP study, construction support and operation support.
