* Providing assistance in preparing and developing Security Risk Assessments (SRA) and contingency plans* Assisting in preparing Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS) and Minimum Operating Residential Security Standards (MORSS) and monitoring compliance;• Monitoring the implementation of security policies and procedures and all matters pertaining to the safety and security of personnel, premises and assets,* Familiarity with the downloading information from web-based mapping systems.* Processing UNDSS on-line website technical operations, especially with linkage to integrating coordinates of UN staff members' residence locations on GIS mapping/satellite image systems and initiating queries to identify staff living in any defined radius to a security incident.* Mapping to all incidents with linkage to UN offices of government installations, hospitals, police stations, fire brigade, schools, etc.* Any other task that can be provided by the CSA.* Presenting web-designer solutions.* Developing advanced services of automated systems to be added within the environment of the UNDSS Syria website.* Preparing power point presentations for security meetings/briefings.* Creating different templates for security reports, advisories, tips, bulk SMSes, etc* Any other task that can be provided by the CSA and/or the CSA a.i.* Assisting in supporting all matters pertaining to the safety and security of personnel, premises and assets in all in-country duty stations;* Maintains routine and confidential correspondence files/documents;* Assisting in conducting security training for UN personnel, locally-recruited guards and others as appropriate.

a. Security Analysisi. Evaluates and coordinates security information requirements, collection, collation and dissemination of security threat information; Reviews/establishes procedures for security information collection and processing;ii. Maintains effective communication channels with security authorities of host countries and other interlocutors;iii. Gathers comprehensive information on all factors of insecurity, assesses the relevance and validity of security information and the reliability of information resources; identifies trends of threats and security incidents affecting United Nations system personnel, assets and operations; iv. Provides security risk analysis, briefing materials and presentations; contributes to specific security risk assessments for individual UN programmes and activities in countries and regions, or in preparation of rapid threat and risk assessments;v. Contributes to the development of security advisories and recommendations on security operating procedures; Drafts and coordinates timely dissemination of security threat information; Drafts analysis reports of security incidents affecting United Nations system personnel, assets and operations;b. Security Operations: assist the FSCO in the coordination of security support for UNSMS operationsc. Crisis Management and Incident Response: assist the CSA, FSCO, DO/ASC and SMT/ASMT in crisis management and incident response; d. Training: provide security information analysis training/briefingse. Collaboration with INGOs and IOs: collaborate with INGOs/IOs in accordance with the Saving Lives Together (SLT) Framework and SLT Implementation Guidelines;

• Providing reports and security related documents to Department management;• Monitoring the news on all sorts of media and producing the daily situation reports;• Keeping supervisors informed of any emergencies or breaking news in Syria &the region;• Liaising and communicating with staff of UN agencies on safety and security issues. • Communicating and receiving messages through VHF, HF, fax, e-mail and telephones on daily basis with UN offices in Syria.• Ensuring the ability to inter-communicate with all other networks of UN, International organizations and NGOs in Syria, • Activating warden system and passing vital security information as advised by LSA, SA and DO to the respective staff.• Ensuring that all network users are following the rules for radio traffic in order to adhere to the discipline of using networks, call signs, English language and that all systems are compliant to the regional frequency band plan.• Keeping the supervisors up to date with all procedures, problems and faults in the radio network and undertaking any necessary actions to maintain order in the system;

 Leading the technical support teams and arranging their responsibilities and tasks, monitoring and analyzing the technical reports provided from these teams. Troubleshooting and providing technical support. Studying and supervising the contracts with clients and giving the approvals for final signatures. Ensuring the suitability of specific software for meeting business requirements, through, system engineering (physical designing, data modeling, and security systems), test designing and implementation. Incepting blue print for networking, intranet and security administration systems, with demarcating database administration systems for various departmental administrative wings. Monitoring day-end system performance reports for anomalies and implementing immediate remedial measures. Planning and devising ways of optimizing existent resources to improve throughput thus enhancing system performance parameters. Performing regular system checks and preventive maintenance of hardware and software to ensure optimum system performance. Identified problems by coordinating with work teams and clients. Receiving the feedback from the clients and solving the complaints if exist. Following up the VIP clients, and providing them with a very high quality service. Keeping abreast on the technological progresses especially the progress of specific market sector.
