Led & launched Vyatta's offering in AWS as one of the first networking sw appliance, worked closely with teams at RackSpace (openstack) & NS Solutions (Japan) to bring Vyatta to their clouds. Worked with engineering to develop clear specs & timelines as well as with PMM & Sales on post-release outbound activities.Vyatta had 1M+ worldwide installations & 1000+ entreprise customers when it was acquired by Brocade (BRCD (NASDAQ)) in fall 2012 for it's NFV & SDN capabilities.

Joined Vyatta as the first new grad hire when the startup was 1.5 years old. Worked alongside folks with multiple years of eng leadership at Sun Microsystems, Cisco, Juniper, Linux Kernel, IETF etc. As a key member of the team, was responsible for integrating and maintaining variety of components in Vyatta's software based open source network operating system: DHCP, DNS, NAT, Firewall, Zone-Based Firewall, Stateful Failover, IPsec VPN, Vyatta upgrade procedure, GUI backend interaction. Developed a novel approach to defend against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks by combining multiple defense systems in a collaborative manner. Investigated how to include SpeakUp (a mechanism proposed by MIT researchers) into DefCOM (a distributed DoS defense architecture) to achieve superior defense performance. Implemented Speak-up by modifying kernel module for rate-limiters in DefCOM. Experiments were run in Emulab testbed to test against live traffic. Results were published & presented at IEEE ICC Conference (Beijing, China) in 2008.

Studied ultra high-efficiency solar materials & developed a model for polarization in them. Reverse-engineered the de-facto semiconductor simulation software, PC1D, to incorporate the model, implement UX & back-end. Modified software was used by the world-record holder solar group to model new materials prior to expensive fabrication experiments. PC1D was later open-sourced to provide access to researchers worldwide.Results were published & presented at the 22nd European Photovoltaics Conference (Milan, Italy) in 2007.
