Investigated how to include SpeakUp (a mechanism proposed by MIT researchers) into DefCOM (a distributed DoS defense architecture) to achieve superior defense performance. Implemented Speak-up by modifying kernel module for rate-limiters in DefCOM. Experiments were run in Emulab testbed to test against live traffic. Results were published & presented at IEEE ICC Conference (Beijing, China) in 2008.
