Starting off as a medicines counter assistant, the general collection of prescriptions and sales of over the counter (OTC) products was my initial role. Training was then provided to enable certain members of the pharmacy to perform health checks on the public. In these health checks, the patient’s cholesterol and blood glucose levels, alongside their blood pressure, weight and height are collected. This information is then inputted into a programme and the results given are used to explain the health status and risk of cardiovascular diseases to the patient in a half hourly appointment. Onward GP referral and tailored advice is then discussed to ensure the risk of cardiovascular diseases is minimised as much as possible.

Working with internal customers and external partners, my main roles included the dispensing of neat and solubilised sample; the formulation of research samples; and plate preparation for the Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC) project.

Rose Kiln Court

As a water quality scientist, my primary role was to carry out in depth investigations in order to resolve customer complaints that have been escalated. As a part of these investigations, sampling and interpretation of laboratory analyses, and network operations are undertaken in order to reach solutions. Secondary roles include monitoring a multiple complaints report in order to identify water quality incidents and patterns, and to maintain customer contact records which are audited by the DWI.

Wokingham

My job roles while working in the medical centre varied from aiding the different members of the patient services team and prescription clerks, to observing and assisting different doctors while seeing patients from within the medical centre and on patient home visits. During patient home visits, aiding in the diagnosis of the patient and the appropriate treatment or onward referral was also undertaken by liaising with the pharmacy and patient services team within the medical centre

During my time at LegoLand, I worked as a Food & Beverage assistant covering many areas such as working on the till and interacting with thousands of customers in a very busy environment, alongside keeping up with the fast-paced, active atmosphere that LegoLand has. I would also occasionally be moved around in to different areas and so would face a new working environment on a regular basis.
