Handled activities like Freight costs, liaison with consignee, shipping line & clearing agent.

Being head of Internal Audit of Pak Gulf Construction (Pvt) Limited and the the other 5 Group Companies I have the following responsibilities;• Devising SOPs for stronger internal controls and smooth operations• Through continuous monitoring ensuring that the SOP and the defined procedures and complied with and are followed in true spirit• Identification of the gaps and grey areas in the procedures and systems to make improvement and make the system more strengthen• Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings• Determination of Scope of Internal Audit and devising monthly and annual audit program and audit plans• Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document processACHIEVEMENTS:• System Internal Audit on the fire and safety arrangements with in the Shopping Mall identified various loop holes with in the premises with regard to the installed facilities and the areas which are at risk of fire hazards• Pre-Audit of various orders as processed by procurement department were analysed through an in depth review which resulted in the identification of alternate solution which were cost effective keeping in view the quality. Majorly included the Fire Alarm Systems, BMU, Public Address System, Skylight roof, Elevator parts, LT panels, Distribution Boxes, Cable Trays etc. The gross savings to the company amounted to around USD286,000. This was appreciated and recognized by the management in the form of my Promotion to Head of Procurement department.

Following were the deliveries;• Project Cost analysis and break down of the cost department wise and sector wise. This entailed the project cost analysis as per the project budget heads under the heading of Civil Works, Glass Works, Wood Works, Metallurgy, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC etc.• Preparing budgets of the project keeping in view the BOQs and the Work Plans of the project. The BOQs were converted into the actual costs through market rate analysis of goods and services by the Procurement department. Budget was made in the breakdown of the cost sectors of construction project.• Bank Reconciliations, Vendors account balance reconciliations, posting and verification of payment vouchers, payroll and labour wages, other project payments of procurement, IPCs, Retention Money etc.• Taking care and approving all the import documents like Booking Confirmations, Bill of Lading, Proforma Invoice, Commercial Invoice, Packing Lists, FTAs, Certificate of Origin, Delivery orders, Custom clearing, Container guarantees.• Financial and Management reporting for the budget variances and cost incurred• Being project coordinator identified the critical delay factors and had a walkthrough of procedure and document tracking to avoid delays in the project• Identified the critical cost overrun factors duly supported with the budget overruns and variances. Suggested tools to avoid cost overruns within the company.• Coordinated the external auditors from KPMG, Chartered Accountants to conduct the statutory audit. Provision of schedules for payable and receivables break down of each balance sheet items, cash flow statements, provision of taxation workings along with working for deferred tax, contingencies and claims, inventory costing, interest working on investments and loans etc.• Maintained Fixed Assets register with proper record of additions, deletions, depreciation and WDVs.

Maamaar International is an import and export trading company. Main business is import of Coal and export of Steel and Cement. Being overall in charge of Finance Department I have responsibility of;• Preparation of the Commercial and Sales Tax invoices both for Local Sales and Export Sales.• Generating, purchase orders and Performa Invoices. Related to Export Sales I have experience of generating Certificate of Origin and form-E.• Handling foreign currency transactions, gathering spot rates and Foreign Currency translations under IAS-21. • Maintaining bank accounts, preparing vouchers, general entries, issuing Cheques, maintaining ledgers, preparing fund flow statements and bank reconciliation statement. • Processing payments including payments to vendors, rent, suppliers, bank loans and salaries.
