Title of the research “Evaluation Of Test Crosses For Grain Yield And Morphological Traits In Maize Variety Sarhad White”.Abstract: The reaerch was carried out at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agricultural University Peshawar during crop season year 2010 with the objectives to evaluate maize inbred lines derived from maize variety Sarhad White for grain yield and morphological traits and identifying superior inbred lines based on test cross performance. Test crosses were evaluated in replicated trial along with two tester, one check and 16 parental inbred lines for comparison in a 7×7 partially balanced lattice square design with two replications. Data were recorded on 50% tasseling, silking, pollen sheding, anthesis silking interval (ASI), ear height, plant height, ear length and grain yield. Results revealed highly significant differences among the genotypes for most of the traits. Non significant differences were, however, observed among the genotypes for grain yield (kgha-1).
