  • Freeman Company
Senior Vice President — User Experience & Quality Innovation
    Freeman Company Jan 2022 - Jun 2022
    Dallas, Texas, Us
At the beginning of 2022, I stepped into a new role at Freeman, establishing and setting up a new Business Support function called User Experience and Quality Innovation. Our charter is focused on keeping Freeman the #1 place for employees, customers, and thought leadership in the Live Events industry. Our remit encompasses three broad areas of responsibility: Internal User Experience, External User Experience, and future-facing exploration and innovation. The team has assumed a product ownership role for internal and external products and platforms and is engaged in the work of identifying, understanding, and mitigating internal and external user pains and points-of-friction, and working to design the roadmaps and deliver on Enterprise scale solutions that can eliminate the pain. We are also working as a ‘Box 3’ team, looking ahead to identify, analyze, and respond to trends, innovations, and ideas that have impact on our business and working with internal and external partners to drive changes that will improve the business experience of working with, and at Freeman, today and into the future.
  • Freeman Company
    Senior Vice President — Design
    Freeman Company May 2018 - Jan 2022
    Dallas, Texas, Us
In 2018, I was asked to lead the Design function at Freeman, a talented team of designers, engineers, and creatives supporting Freeman's business. The Design team is dedicated to helping our clients exceed their most aggressive and aspirational brand experience goals by delivering innovative, engaging, and powerful ideas that redefine creative excellence, connect people, and move them to action. While the work and the people of Design were (and are still) amazing, many of our legacy systems, platforms, tools, and processes were no longer fit for purpose. My mission was to professionalize and upgrade our systems and processes, bringing this team into the modern-day without disrupting its ability to continue to deliver on day-to-day business while also elevating our work's quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. My leaders and I grew and nurtured a cohesive, diverse, and energized team of (pre-COVID) 400 people, establishing a vibrant and exciting creative culture. We rolled out a robust implementation of the Adobe Workfront project management platform, streamlined and optimized our operations, and designed and implemented a company-wide cost-recovery rate card. We went through a rigorous job architecture process, brought together three disparate design practices, managed and ran the business against an established set of meaningful KPIs and metrics, built a Design Enablement function and a Design Resourcing Department, and drove a proactive data-driven demand-prediction framework. Over the course of 4 years, we transformed the ho-hum performance of a transactional 'service' function to a modern utilization-positive award-winning creative group.
