I am a Master of Architecture from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, an Institution of National importance, with specialization in Architectural Conservation. My expertise lies in Conservation of Cultural Heritage sites in tandem with maintaining its natural ecology in an interdisciplinary way. I also partially completed my advanced Master’s in Public Affairs (MPA) from Sciences Po, Paris with a focus on core subjects like Governance, Public Policy, Heritage and International Relations, Tax Policy, Conflict Negotiations, International Economic Policy and Digital Technologies among other subjects related to Economics. My MPA thesis is related to conflicts and opportunities arising between ‘Article 303’ from the ‘Law of Sea’ and the 2001 UNESCO Convention. I am independently researching on the mitigation, impacts, adaptation & vulnerability of Climate Change on Cultural Heritage and World Heritage sites. In particular my research relates to climate adaptation actions to avoid and minimize climate impacts on heritage values consistent to preserve the Outstanding Universal Value of heritage properties. I am also reanalyzing approaches of Cultural Heritage Conventions with regard to transnational protection of cultural heritage and trying to find answers which are at the intersection of legal, technical and emotional aspects in disputes over the return/ restoration of Cultural Assets. As a professional, I have sound knowledge of standard setting instruments and programmes in the field of Culture. I am well versed with UNESCO conventions viz. the 1954 Convention for Armed Conflict and Heritage, the 1970 Convention for Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Property, the 1972 Convention for World Heritage, the 2001 Convention for Underwater Cultural Heritage, the 2003 Convention for Intangible Cultural Heritage, the 2005 Convention for Diversity of Cultural Expression, etc.My built heritage education, study of international relations and public policy, study of Urban environmental law, professional practice preparing bid process management documents in an Infrastructure Advisory firm along with teaching experience have strengthen my ability to understand, evaluate & coordinate very complex and demanding situations. My Architectural conservation development studies and adaptive re-use research for Ram-Bagh/Gate, Nabha Gate in Punjab have honed my ability to document, understand repair of on-site damage, assess emergency/ protective measures, utilize monitoring resources for damaged cultural properties. I am also a social Historical researcher.
