Moira Amado-McCoy aims to transform the wealth management experience from a static, cookie-cutter, volume-based enterprise into an agile, tailored, and intention-based service. Moira runs a woman-centered practice specializing in investing for social and political good, with a particular interest in growth investing for philanthropic purposes. As a second-career professional, Dr. Amado-McCoy employs her understanding of power intersections to inform her stewardship advice for women and women’s advocates. Driven by commitment and compassion, and supported by a seasoned team of financial professionals, Moira's educational commitments offer bespoke solutions to help ensure long term financial success for clients and the issues that matter to them. A strategy-driven approach for managing wealth, and human potential at the same time, explicitly acknowledges that accumulation is never the sole objective for earned and inherited wealth. Instead, it's critical to develop a comprehensive view of financial goals which can then be effectively mapped onto the market economy. Together, we work to achieve not only financial health, but financial power.**ABOUT ME:Born and raised in New Mexico, I earned my first two degrees from our flagship schools. I spent years in overseas adventures before I began raising a family and pursuing a PhD (Miami University, Oxford, OH, 2003). My proudest role is the one I played raising two kind, generous, and accomplished daughters. After 10 years of university teaching, researching, and service, I returned to NM in 2014 and began working as a financial advisor with Edward Jones. Moving to California, I expanded my own financial literacy as a short-term partner a start-up RIA.My community service focuses on at risk populations, especially those affected by gender and race violence: Take Back the Night; NM First (nonpartisan public policy organization); Advisory Committee for SAGE (education dedicated to the needs of LGBTQ elders); "SINC Nonrofit Pro" for the Rio Grande Community Development Center; member of the Civilian Police Oversight Board (created as part of the consent decree between the DOJ and the Albuquerque PD)._____________________________________________________________Everyday I earn the privilege of helping care for families by shepherding this critical part of of their personal and professional lives. If you think I might be a good fit for you, reach out, and we'll explore it together.
