Every year I take time out from the day job to be involved with the organising and set up of the festival. Since 2002 I have been responsible for the efficient running of the back stage area, co-ordinating with the technical and site crews, site security, site manager and festival organiser, together with stage and back stage security and ensuring the welfare of artists.

Working as a Remote PAM (Passive Acoustic Monitoring) Operator for Seiche Measurements Limited to mitigate in real time for cetaceans primarily during seismic activity.Working on various projects globally but monitoring remotely. Requiring a knowledge of seismic surveys and training in the acoustic monitoring of cetaceans, the use of PAMGuard software and PAM equipment and remote desktop software in order to be able to advise on mitigation actions complying with area specific legislation.An extensive use of data analysis software is involved to record data and keep accurate records of the marine mammal detections and to produce reports for clients. A high level of understanding is required of the different vocalisation characteristics of marine species, as well as a basic understanding of underwater acoustics.Trouble shooting of software, hardware and network problems including satellite connectivity is also required.

Taking tribes of 10-15 children on camps in the wild and giving them real back-to-nature experiences they will never forget.

Running and working with teams in surveys both on and offshore. Necessitating strong use of organisational skills in maintaining the co-ordination of the team and in utilising time effectively often in high pressure and high stress situations, and liaising efficiently with the clients.Types of survey work have included;Offshore - seismic for oil and gas exploration, environmental, debris searches, pipeline monitoring; Onshore and coastal - dredging, environmental, channel mapping, flood control, erosion impact.My primarily role was on the navigation side, but also hands on in data processing and assisting with the technical and engineering side as required.Companies worked for have included Hydraulic Research Ltd., National Rivers Authority, Britsurvey and Svitzer.
